Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your Step Friend account and the data associated with it. Step Friend is operated by Alejandro Sánchez from Mexico. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].
1. Delete your account in the app (recommended)
- Open Step Friend.
- Go to your Profile (settings drawer).
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
This permanently deletes your account and removes your synced data from our servers. The action requires you to be signed in, so only the account owner can perform it.
2. If you can't access the app
If you've uninstalled the app, lost access to your device, or can't sign in, email us at [email protected] from your registered email address and ask us to delete your account.
To protect you, we may ask you to confirm your identity before deleting (so we only act on requests from the real account owner). We will process verified requests within a maximum of 30 days.
3. What data is deleted
When you delete your account, we erase the data associated with it from our servers, including:
- Account information (email, username, time zone)
- Game progress (steps, level, streak, coins, inventory and outfits)
- Subscription / entitlement records linked to your account
- Coaching questionnaire responses associated with your account
Health data (steps, heart rate, workouts) is read only with your permission and stored together with your progress; it is deleted along with your account. The app only reads this data — it never writes to Apple Health or Health Connect. You can also revoke health permission anytime from your device settings.
4. What we retain, and for how long
- Your server data is erased within 30 days of the request.
- Minimal records required by tax or fraud-prevention law may be kept for up to 5 years, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- If you used Step Friend in guest mode (without creating an account), your data lives only on your device — uninstalling the app removes it, and nothing is stored on our servers.
